Calico Ghost Town is a famous 1880s silver-mining ghost town located at 36600 Ghost Town Road in Yermo, California, just off Interstate 15 in the Mojave Desert.
we thought it was going to a neat little side stop /drive through a ghost town but we paid $16 to find out it’s a commercial over crowded tourist trap that you have to walk up to, so we left. Make your own judgement on that.

Beautiful Arizona sunset. We are dropping south a bit and staying at Lake Havasu city tonight to see London Bridge as a small side trip.

England sold the London Bridge in 1968 because the 130-year-old stone structure was slowly sinking into the River Thames and could not handle the weight of modern car traffic.
- American oil tycoon and land developer Robert P. McCulloch bought the bridge for $2.46 million.
- Real estate gamble: McCulloch wanted a major landmark to draw tourists and real estate buyers to Lake Havasu City, a remote planned community he built in the Arizona desert
- They created a man made water feature into town for this bridge, casino etc.
- Workers numbered and removed the exterior granite blocks, shipped them through the Panama Canal to California, and trucked them to Arizona to wrap around a new concrete core
