308 miles from Lincoln IL to St Robert MO
Today being Sunday many things were not open, but we did manage to get a few stamps and some photo ops. We planned this for Illinois because we have done a lot of it before, and the kids are still there if we missed anything we can do on a future visit. I was thrilled to see they have completed the walking Route 66 tour at the Illinois state fairgrounds and they did a wonderful job! I have included a link

So we followed the sign to shay’s….

Lots of detail in this project

We followed that up with a wonderful (as usual) lunch at Motorheads in Springfield IL
They have a ton of decor, we have eaten here before so didn’t do the full tour this trip but here’s a taste

Next stop was Raymond Illinois where a family has carefully maintained this shrine of our lady the highways. As people started to travel more of course accidents happened . This was set up so you could stop and pray for a safe trip for yourself or fellow travelers

If you have ever traveled south from Springfield to St. Louis, even on the interstate…. You have seen the pink elephant!

And a huge antique store. We had some Route 66 soda and some ice cream and moved on!

Welcome to Uranus !!
We ended the day by getting our fudge packed in Uranus!
The cashier happily informed us that if you are parked near the exit, they have no problem with you coming in the back door!

We stayed here for the night. We are slightly behind but should be back on track tomorrow …. TULSA!
